Towards first principle understanding of the quark and gluon structure of hadrons

In this talk, I will explain the general framework developed over last few years and the associated challenges in probing partonic physics defined on the light-cone using lattice QCD computations that are restricted to be on Euclidean lattices. For this, I will use our computation of valence quark structure of pion on very fine lattices as an example.
