Standard Model and the Higgs boson(s)

Priyotosh Bandyopadhyay

INFN Lecce, Italy

We shall have a brief introduction to Standard Model of particle physics. It We discuss electro-weak symmetry breaking and generation of masses via Higgs mechanism. We will see how Higgs mechanism predicts the Higgs boson that was searched in the earlier experiments and finally we discovered at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Still there are enough reasons why we need to go beyond Standard Model. The possible new physics scenarios, possibilities of other Higgs bosons along with the charged Higgs bosons will be discussed. If such new physics exists then how do we see them in the current and future experiments?
