Exploring consequences of the self interactions of dark matter

Typically while evaluating dark matter abundances, the interactions among dark matter particles are assumed to be negligible. This consideration results in two broad scenarios which could lead to DM abundance namely -- freeze-out and freeze-in. With self interactions, the scenarios establishing DM abundance generalises to four namely-- visible sector FO, hidden sector FO, re-annihilations and freeze-in. In the first half of the talk we describe the basics of these and then generalise this to consider its extension in the modified freeze-in scenario.
