Relating Supersymmetric Theories across Dimensions

Dharmesh Jain

SINP

We study certain d=5 supersymmetric gauge theories using the
localization technique. It was proposed holographically that the free
energy of these theories when dimensionally reduced on a Riemann surface
should satisfy a universal relation to the free energy of the original
theory. We provide an explicit check of this proposed relation between d=5
and d=3 theories and along the way, 'complete' the existing partition
function computation in the literature. If time permits, we will also talk
about a different class of d=5 theories that have a d=6 UV completion
allowing us to shed some light on the relation between d=5 and d=4
theories.
