Cosmology: A lamp post of particle dark matter search

Subinoy Das

Indian Institute of Astrophysics

The structure formation of universe needs dark matter as the
major component of matter, yet the fundamental nature of dark matter remains unknown. I will briefly review the status of particle dark matter search and discuss various interesting constraints on dark matter mass, annihilation cross section and its formation epoch from cosmological observations. I will also discuss why near future cosmology has the potential to distinguish between wimp and non-wimp dark matter candidate.
