Embedded Resolution of curves in surfaces

The general problem of resolution of singularities is,
given a variety V to find a proper bi-rational morphism f:V'-->V with V' non-singular.In my talk,I will discuss about blowing-up at a point (contained in the singular locus )and the problem of embedded resolution of curves in surfaces,through some examples.
