Path Integral formulation for Polymer Quantized Scalar fields

From the LQG perspective, matter fields as well as gravity should be quantized in a background independent manner. Such a background independent quantization for scalar fields, called 'polymer quantization', is necessarily inequivalent to the standard Schrodinger quantization. Polymer quantization was originally developed in the Hilbert Space framework. In this talk we show how to obtain a path integral formulation for Polymer quantized scalar field theories. We'll see that the final formula closely resembles the standard path integral picture, except for certain interesting differences.
