Gravitational Waves from Compact Sources in de Sitter Background

The concordance model of cosmology favours a universe with a tiny positive cosmological constant. A constant positive curvature, however small, profoundly alters the asymptotic structure, forcing a re-look at a theory of gravitational radiation. Even in non-asymptotic regions, the computation of retarded solution shows new features. I will discuss the various issues that come up in analysing gravitational waves in a de Sitter background. This is based on the work, done with Jahanur Hoque, detailed in arXiv:1510.07856.
