I have oppurtunities for PhD students and postdocs interested in working in soft matter science. My
research page describes my principal interests. If you are looking towards a PhD you must qualify for entrance to IMSc through the JEST. If you are looking for a postdoc, or if you are interested in a collaboration, or want to work for a short project over summer please mail me directly. If you are seeking a position over summer, you must apply to our summer student programme.

Past Summer Students

G. Sathej, IIT-Madras, Chennai, made a detailed numerical study of the eigenspectra of Indian musical drums using a Fourier-Chebyshev spectral collocation method. This work has been published in the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America.

Radha Ramachandran, IIT-Madras, Chennai, worked on a stochastic Runge-Kutta method to solve systems of stochastic ordinary differential equations and to its applications for order-parameter descriptions of critical dynamics. (Now at the University of Chicago)

Debapriya Banerjee, St. Xavier's College, Kolkata, (JNC Summer Fellowship) looked at numerical methods of minimising functionals of a classical field.15th. (Now at IIT-Madras)

Saikat Basu, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, (JNC Summer Fellowship) worked on the problem of self-propulsion of a torus in Stokes flow.

Aditya Jaganath, St. Stephen's College, New Delhi, (IMSc Summer Student Program) studied the Bayesian analysis of economic and geophysical time series. (Now Erasmus Scholar)
