Winter School on Functional Analysis

There will be a three weeks workshop on ``Functional Analysis" from 28th November ( arrival Sunday Sunday 27th November) to 15th December ( departure Friday 16th December) at the mathematics department of the Cochin University on the following topics:


1. Basic Functional Analysis

2. Euclidean Harmonic Analysis

3. Introductory Operator Algebras

4. Ergodic Theory

5. Random Operators

6. Spectral Theory

Basic prerequisite: Basic set theory and topology, Measure theory and Complex Analysis. Target audience: Students those who have at least completed 1st year MSc in Mathmatics. Interested participants are requested to post a short CV along with a one page write up on his/her mathematical inclinations to nbdri@yahoo.com, anilesh@imsc.res.in, parthac@imsc.res.in. A recommendation letter is required for an interested participant who is not in the above category. Selected participants pursuing PhD with an MSc degree will be given AC 3T train fare and others will be given sleeper class train fare. We will also take care of local hospitalities.
