12. What about vehicular movement and disturbance?

When the laboratory is operating it is expected that on the average about 20 personnel will be working inside the laboratory in shifts. As such disturbance due to vehicular movement during this period will be miniscule compared to already-existing traffic on this road. Furthermore, the personnel movement from the nearby Masinagudi residential station (about 6 km away) can be handled by electric vehicles to minimise pollution and noise. Such an arrangement will also be required for the movement within the tunnel since exhaust gases pollute the environment inside the laboratory.

The major centre of scientific activity, apart from data taking at the underground laboratory itself, will be located in the Masinagudi town and possibly a bigger station at Mysore.
