Lecture Schedule: November 10, 13, 17 and 20 from 3:15pm to 5:15pm in Room 123.

Abstract: In this series of lectures, we will discuss the Heisenberg group, the Stone-von Neumann theorem about its irreducible representations, the Weil representation of the symplectic group, the notion of dual reductive pairs, and the Howe duality correspondence. We will try to discuss both the archimedean and non-archimedean theory. No prerequisite will be assumed in representation theory, except general knowledge about it including Schur's lemma.
