This workshop is a joint event with the 19th Conference on Foundations of Software Technology and Theoretical Computer Science (FST & TCS '99), which will be held on the campus of the Indian Institute of Technology in Chennai, India. The workshop will focus on Data Structures, with an emphasis on those relevant to current and emerging applications. The workshop will be structured around eight invited talks

Raman (King's College London). The tentative programme for the workshop is
here. A special issue of the Journal of Discrete Algorithms will be devoted to papers from this workshop. In addition to FST & TCS, a number of other events will take place in Chennai in the time around the workshop: the International Symposium on Algorithms and Computation (ISAAC) will be held from December 16 to 18, 1999 and a post-conference workshop of the FST & TCS conference on Foundations of Mobile Computing takes place from December 16 and 17.
