<a href="http://www.imsc.res.in/~iarcs"> IARCS </a>, the Indian
Association for Research in Computing Science, announces the 19th
Annual FST & TCS Conference in Chennai, jointly organized by the <a
href="http://www.imsc.res.in"> Institute of Mathematical Sciences
</a> and the <a href="http://www.iitm.ernet.in"> Indian Institute
of Technology, Madras</a>.
<p>
This annual conference provides a platform for presentation of
original research results in fundamental aspects of computer
science. It also provides an excellent forum for meeting and
exchanging ideas with people who are at the frontline of software
technology and theoretical computer science.
<p>
The Conference Proceedings will be published by <a
href="http://www.springer.de"> Springer-Verlag </a> in the series <a
href="http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs"> Lecture Notes in Computer
Science</a> (LNCS), volume 1738. (Previous proceedings appeared as
LNCS Volumes ..., 880, 1026, 1180, 1346, 1530.)
<p>
The conference will have two workshops as satellite events: a
pre-conference workshop on <a href = "data.html"> <em> Advances in
Data Structures </em> </a> and a
post-conference workshop on <a href = "mob2.html"> <em>
Foundations of Mobile Computation </em> </a>. The Conference
will be followed by the <a href =
"http://www.cs.iitm.ernet.in/~tcslab/isaac99"> International
Symposium on Algorithms and Computation </a> (ISAAC) also to be held
in Chennai. Some joint events with ISAAC are also being planned.
<p>
Another related conference in Asia around the same time is the
<a href="http://www.comp.nus.edu.sg/~asian99"> Asian Computing
Science Conference </a>, December 10-12, 1999, in Phuket, Thailand.
