#### SHANKARA

CONFERENCE ON CHANDRAYANAThis conference is our efforts to celebrate the contributions of Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar, outstanding Astrophysicist who had his early education in Chennai. He was also associated with the inauguration of the Institute of Mathematical Sciences. This conference will be in the form of research talks on issues and questions of Astrophysics and cosmology, classical and quantum aspects of blackholes etc., as well as public lectures to provide inspiration and encouragement to students to take up Astrophysics and gravity for further studies. This meeting will take place at IMSc and Dept of Physics, IIT Madras between 3rd - 7th Jan 2011. It is supported and organised by IMSc, Chennai and the Dept of Physics, IIT Madras
