Scientific Meetings, Projects and Other Activities

Academic meetings

National and International Workshops, Symposia and Conferences in various fields are organized frequently by IMSc. Members of the Institute organize and participate actively in Advanced Schools such as the SERC Schools of the Department of Science and Technology, the programs of the National Board of Higher Mathematics (NBHM) and DST sponsored Refresher Courses for College and University teachers. A list of recent Conferences/Workshops/Meetings is available here.

Besides regular Seminar/Colloquium activities by Institute members and Visiting Scientists, Workshops, Symposia and Conferences in various fields are organized frequently by IMSC. Conference participants come from all over India and abroad, and are usually housed in the Institute Guest-House Complex. Such meetings are usually held in the Ramanujan Auditorium of IMSc. Here is a list of current and past conferences here at IMSc. Here is a list of seminars and colloquiua to be held over the coming week at IMSc.

 Collaborative Projects
Institute members participate in several collaborative projects with other academic institutions and government bodies.

nstitute members participate in several collaborative projects with other institutions. Such projects include Indo-U.S. collaborative projects funded by the NSF, Indo-German projects under the DST-DAAD scheme, Indo-French and Indo-U.K. projects as well as DRDO-funded projects and 10th plan projects including the Indian Lattice Gauge theory Initiative (ILGTI)

The INO (India-based Neutrino Observatory) project is one such planned multi-national collaborative effort which scientists at IMSC are involved in. A detailed list of projects involving IMSc scientists may be obtained here.
