Welcome. I am a computational biologist at IMSc, with interests in bioinformatic algorithms, regulatory genomics, chromatin, evolutionary biology, and, recently, machine learning and clinical outcomes. (See the research page for more.)

Brief bio:
My Ph.D. is in physics from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, but I moved into biology during my second postdoctoral stint (at the Rockefeller University, New York). I joined the physics group at IMSc in 2004, and in 2013 we started a new group, and new PhD programme, in computational biology.

Opportunities:
I take students only via our institute's Ph.D. programme; apply if you want to study here. Students typically identify advisors after a year of coursework, and things are flexible.
I accommodate undergraduate students doing projects occasionally, but get a lot of mail about this. To catch my attention, try to be specific about your interests and why you want to work with me.
We occasionally have positions for project assistants, which I will announce here as well as on social media.
